Touhou Saikotan ~ Servants of Harvest Wish (東方催狐譚) is a Touhou Project fangame developed by Dream Compass in 2020.

It´s actually a sequel of The Shattered Sky.

Gameplay overview

The game features a "Harvest Mode" system where grazing rewards you with harvest items. These harvest items will put you into Harvest Mode after filling up your Harvest Gauge. In Harvest Mode, all point items and faith items on screen will be auto-collected. You will gain point item value for all harvest items obtained during Harvest Mode, as well as up to three spell pieces for collecting a sufficient amount of harvest items. After the Harvest Mode is over, the player is given a brief amount of invulnerability. Alternatively, you can activate your spell during Harvest Mode, which will trigger a bullet-clearing suppressor at the cost of ending Harvest Mode prematurely.

In Harvest Mode, if you collect a lot of seeds, you can achieve a percentage that when Harvest ends automatically, it will award bomb parts. Here`s what each percentage gives bomb part amounts:

• 100%: 1 bomb part
• 200%: 2 bomb parts
• 300% / MAX: 3 bomb parts

Controls

Like the official games, uses the standard Touhou control scheme.

• Z: Shoot
• X: Bomb / Harvest suppressor
• Shift: Focus

On keyboard, movement can be done using either the arrow keys or the number pad. The gamepad can also be configured using the config program of the game.

Difficulties

The game has 4 difficulty modes and a hidden one. The higher difficulties are, of course, harder, and also have higher scoring potential. The difficulty modes are:

• Easy
• Normal
• Hard
• Lunatic
• Ura (Press shift 10 times to access it).

The game also has an Extra stage, which has 3 difficulty variants:

• Easy Extra
• Extra (Original)
• Lunatic Extra

On spell practice, there´s also Overdrive spellcards, which also include anomalies.

Scoring

Scoring is based on collecting point items, star items, canceling certain bullets for value items and increase point item value and attempting to capture spellcards.

Servants of Harvest Wish features 4 playable character with 2 different weapon types.

This game is also notable for having Ryouko (the Stage 5 Boss of Dream Compass´ previous game, The Shattered Sky) as a playable character.

Hakurei Reimu

Hakurei Reimu			A	B

			Description: Reimu A uses a forward focus shot, which is excellent for bosses. Her bomb is similarly designed, only covering a narrow area of the screen but dealing a lot of damage.	Description: Reimu B is a homing shot, which has a relatively low damage output but makes most stage portions much easier. Her bomb also has homing properties, and does slightly less damage than Reimu A's bomb as well.

Kirisame Marisa

			Description: Marisa A is a narrow missile attacker. Her missiles start slowly before moving fast, dealing great damage. Her bomb releases stars in a really wide coverage.	Description: Marisa B is a narrow laser attacker. Her lasers can penetrate. Her bomb does great damage and coverage, but decreases movement speed greatly during the duration.

Kochiya Sanae

			Description: Sanae A is a homing shot. She shoots snakes, which will turn to hit an enemy when it reaches said enemy's horizontal position. Her bomb summons a spinning star, that deals decent damage.	Description: Sanae B is a spread shot. Her options can deal splash damage, with the explosions dealing some damage per frame of contact. Her bomb starts off in a small area way before exploding widely to clear the whole screen.

Ryouko

			Description: Ryouko A is a orbiting attacker type. Her options spin around her, giving large coverage, and focusing them will make them fire widely in front. Her bomb summons orbiting meteor-like rocks.	Description: Ryouko B is a blaster attacker type. Her options fire slow energy shots, and focusing it will make it fire a much bigger one in a slightly slow firing rate. Her bomb releases a breath that forms up and travels straightly, eliminating bullets easily, but hardly deals any damage.

Items

	Point items: Increases score. It´s score depends on the value. Will also grant extends if a threshold of them is reached.
	Faith items: Increases score and increases value of point items. The degree of these items variate between difficulties.
	Harvest seeds: Spawns from attacking enemies and grazing. Fills up the Harvest gauge, and if enough are collected, Harvest Mode will be activated. It also triggers another treshold which activates the Last Words upon collecting said amount of harvest seeds on a stage.
	Bomb parts: Gives bomb parts until achieving an extra bomb.
	Value item: Increases the value of point items. Spawns from certain bullet cancels
	1UP: Gives a full Extend.

Trivia

• While Ryouko and Akami are the only TSS characters in this game, some of the rest are unique.
