Developer: Summikko-soft
Release date: 2008

Sumikkou (隅人王) is a doujin shmup by Sumikko-soft in 2008 for Windows. This game only existed as a physical disc pre-order bonus for the special edition of one of Sumikko-soft's other eroge visual novel games during a highly specific point in time.

It was therefore exceedingly rare, and it was actually on the brink of becoming lost media because people couldn't get it anywhere and it was never dumped. However, it was recently saved on DoujinStyle so that anyone can download it and play it.

The game is a parody to Tatsujin Ou, mimicking most of it`s mechanics, except the checkpoint system.

It has 3 stages in 2 loops.

All character voices are played by Hina Nakase.

Gameplay Overview

The player can fire it`s normal shot. Item carriers will drop speed up and sub-weapon items.

In terms of bombing, deploying a bomb gives i-frames compared to Tatsujin Ou.

Scoring

Scoring consists killing enemies. A method to score higher is to damage enemies before killing them and finish a stage with many resources possible.

After clearing a stage, the value goes like this:

  • Remaining lives bonus are multiplied by 5000
  • Remaining bombs bonus are multiplied by 1000

After that, the total bonus will form up and add up to the player`s score.

Hitbox

Sumikko`s hit box covers nearly her entire head.
