Hitogata Happa (ヒトガタハッパ) is a doujin shmup by Platine Dispositif initially released in August 14 2005 as a CD game, and later re-released in September 27 2011 for STEAM.
The game is a prequel to Gundemonium.

Gameplay Overview
The player controls an army of dolls. Each one has their weapon and Mana attack types.
When the Flow gauge is full, the player can ram into enemies to trigger a kamikaze bomb explosion at the cost of a doll.
The game will be over when all dolls are lost
Scoring
Scoring consists of destroying enemies and collecting gems along the way.
After a stage is cleared, the stage clear score values go like this:
- Remaining time is multiplied by x100
- Bomb attacks are multiplied by x400
- Amount of lost dolls are multiplied by x100
Beware of the boss timer
If the boss timer runs out, all other dolls will be instantly lost. If the player is hit while this happens, the game will end.
Purchasing dolls with gems
After completing a stage, the player can use the collected gems to purchase more dolls, as well new ones.
Before the next stage, the game offers what starting doll to choose to start the next stage.
Difficulties and modes
The game offers 4 difficulty modes:
- Euridice (Novice)
- Nobilmente (Original)
- Allemande (Expert)
- Doomsday (Nightmare)
The game also offers unlockable extra modes:
- Solo Voyage: The player chooses a single dolls trough all 6 stages. To get extra dolls, the player has to collect a determined amount of gems. To unlock it, beat the game on Euridice difficulty or higher.
- Destiny 13: The player only 1 stock of each doll. To unlock it, The player must have unlocked Fool. (Fool unlock condition explained in Dolls section)
Dolls
- Leaf:
Shot: Leaf cutter. Shoots multiple forward shots at once. Holding down the Shot button concentrates the shots. Mana act: Soma twilight. Immediately causes an Alpha Planeshift, slowing down time. Flow Charge also increases twice as fast during the Alpha Planeshift, making for a really cool effect. Speed ** Bomb power ***
- Clover:
Shot: Lucky ray. Fires an optical laser that hits enemies in front of you instantly. It is surprisingly effective, and its afterimage does damage as well. Mana act: Rising Sword. a high-powered laser more powerful than the Lucky Ray. Gives i-frames at the start of the attack, but it drops her movement speed considerably. Speed **** Bomb power *
- Rooty:
Shot: Drill cannon. Slows her down when firing. Using B button changes the aiming of the options. Mana act: Blazing spinner. Surrounds her in a fire aura, comsuming the entire Mana gauge. Speed * Bomb power **
- Assam:
Shot: Magical missile. Fires powerful magical missiles from behind. The missiles will automatically home in on enemies. Up to eight magical missiles can be fired at the same time. Mana act: Unlimited storm. Can release a big barrage of homming missiles. Speed *** Bomb power ***
- Earl:
Shot: Rallyman´s beam. Can target any enemy and it can also bend. Mana act: Daath whisper. Immediately causes an Alpha Planeshift, slowing down time. Also, increases the strength of Rallyman’s beam while active. Speed * Bomb power **
- Dimbula:
Shot: Spread shot. Shoots bullets randomly at. Shoots bullets randomly at incoming enemies. Not as powerful as most weapons. Mana act 1: Buddha Charge. Increases Flow Charge speed when holding down the Mana Action button. When button is released before Flow Charge is full, the doll will self-destruct without attacking. However, if the button is released with maximum Flow charge, it will initiate an attack known as Sawada sacrifice ‘05. Mana act 2: Sawada sacrifice ‘05. Causes an automatic Bomb Attack if used with maximum Flow Charge. Be careful, because Dimbula will simply self-destruct if Flow Charge is not at maximum. Speed ** Bomb power ***
- Sikkim:
Shot: Panzer knuckle. Attacks powerfully with both fists. The range of this attack can be changedby holding down the Shot button. At maximum shooting range, the result is similar to a bomb blast. Mana act: Missile smash. A powerful attack that consumes all of the Mana. It can do pretty impressive damage, and destroys enemy projectiles. Speed *** Bomb power **
- Peco:
Shot: Blazing edge. Attacks with a powerful flaming sword. Only useful at a close range. Mana act: Zion slayer. Attacks with two magical swords stolen from the mythical princess Dragon. Briefly slows time when initiated. Speed *** Bomb power *
- Platina:
Shot: Vile lotus. Fies a barrage of bullets in all directions. Mana act: Black blossom. Releases a flower that later explodes releasing bullets. Speed * Bomb power *** Unlock condition: Beat the game on Euridice difficulty or higher, then this doll will be available for purchase for 1,800 gems.
- Lovers:
Shot: Star fire / Beam. Tapping the Shot button will fire a 5-way spread shot, while holding it down fires a laser Mana act: Daath wind. Immediately causes an Alpha Planeshift, slowing down time. Also, increases the strength of shot while active. Speed * Bomb power * Unlock condition: Complete the game a 2nd time in either a difficulty you have not beat it in yet, or in solo voyage mode with a doll you have not beat that with yet.
- Fortuner:
Shot: Dual shot. Rapidly fires 2 shots forward. Mana act: Fortune wheel. Launches a wheel that can turn bullets into gems. Speed *** Bomb power * Unlock condition: Complete the game a 3rd time in either a difficulty you have not beat it in yet, or in solo voyage mode with a doll you have not beat that with yet.
- Fool:
Shot: Rachel hammer. Launches slow but powerfull spike balls. Mana act: Jump. Allows her to avoid bullets by jumping. Speed *** Bomb power * Unlock condition: Complete the game a 4th time in either a difficulty you have not beat it in yet, or in solo voyage mode with a doll you have not beat that with yet.
- Sphere 13:
Shot: ???. A buffed version of Leaf´s leaf cutter shot that also has spread shot angles. Mana act: ???. Stops time to allow her to teleport anywhere. Speed ??? Bomb power ??? She´s a very rare doll, and she´s mostly seen in the Destiny 13 mode.
True Last Boss / TLB
In order to fight the TLB in a normal game, the player has to buy 112 dolls before entering Stage 5. When Kreutzer says that no more dolls can´t be made, it means the requirement has been reached. To fight it in Solo Voyage or Destiny 13, the player must play on the Nobilmente difficulty or higher.
Glitches
- Multiple Dolls in Solo Voyage Mode: Play through Solo Voyage Mode like you normally would, then on a mission of your choice (After mission 0) collide with an enemy or their bullet while your flow meter is not at max so you do not detonate, A menu should come up that will say "PLAYER RELOAD" The second you see it appear on screen, Pause the game, And choose "Quit Game" then pick "Yes" It will return you to the title screen. After arriving at the title screen, Pick "Continue" And you should start off at the stage you were just on, Except you should have your original doll, And one leaf doll. To change dolls Press circle. Whichever doll you have highlighted as your next doll will have all of your gems go to refilling that doll`s remaining quantity. Note: Does not work on Mission 0
Story
The game tells the story of Rosa, a girl who lost her family from the attacks of the Reich army. She decides to enlist the magic of a witch known as Kreutzer, who has charmed her own army of magic dolls, each with extreme power and crazy weapons. With the help of Kreutzer, Rosa is determined to end the tragic war once and for all.
Trivia
- Sikkim saying "Andy!" when she dies is a shameless reference to Mai`s KO`d voiceline in the Garou Densetsu and KOF franchises.
- Earl originates from Gundemonium.
- Earl´s shot type resembles the bend plasma weapon from Raiden II.
- Peco originates from Dicing Knight, a WonderSwan dungeon crawler by Platine Dispositif.
- Fool is based on Zangyura.
- Fortuner is based on Eryth from Gundemonium.
- Lovers is based on Elixirel from Gundemonium.
- Gundemonium´s TLB theme is also named Phantastique Summer Tea Party
- There´s a character in Space Dynagon called Leafy, which is mostly based on Leaf.
- In Stage 4, the 4th midboss Neuschwanstein basically imitates Black Heart, as well the tiny wing-crafts.
- Leaf saying "Watch out! Watch out!" when a boss fight begins and "Just a couple more shots!" when about to finish off a boss are a shameless reference to the DoDonPachi franchise.
