Some games feature environmental hazards to further restrict the player’s freedom to move about.

For an environmental feature to qualify as an environmental hazard it has to both be indistructible and cause the player harm (lost life, lost health/shield, power down etc.)

Some typical examples are the tunnels and general level structure in R-Type and Sine Mora; or the tumbling metal panels in the Stage 4 of Caladrius.
