Rezon (JP:レゾン) is a horizontal scrolling shoot em' up released by Allumer in the year 1991. Similar to other horizontal shooters of that era, it is what one could call an "R-Type clone", with similar mechanics to the Force Pod/Bits, intricate stage layouts and grotesque enemy designs.
In 2023 it was released as part of Hamster's Arcade Archives series, making it the first time the game received a home release.

Gameplay Overview
Rezon has 6 stages with a single loop. Extends are granted at 70k and 150k points.
Controls
- A button (Press): Fires the player's shot.
- A button (Hold): Locks the Arms' position.
Weapons
The player controls the SR-91 fighter equipped with the VAWS (Variable Armor and Weapon System).
Arms
These are 2 option items attached to the top and bottom of the SR-91 when the player first picks up a weapon item. They can aim in multiple angles which is controlled by moving horizontally, deal contact damage and block most enemy projectiles. Holding the A button makes them freeze in their current position, shown by the orb attached to each Arm as it stops rotating while this is happening.
Items
Items appear from destroying unique item carriers.
Scoring
50,000 points awarded for every life remaining at the end of the game. This includes even when the player doesn't have any lives left.
Strategy
Weapon usage
It is recommended to use the Laser weapon for the majority of the game. While losing the ability to shoot upwards and diagonally may sound like a detriment, it deals higher damage than the other two weapons.
Final boss
Notable safespot against the final boss. Useless with Laser as it can't reach high enough to deal damage and the boss has no timeout.
