Trizeal is a vertically scrolling shoot'em up game developed by Triangle Service Games and published by Taito in 2004 for Arcades, by SEGA for the SEGA Dreamcast in 2005, by DATAM Polystar in 2006 for the PS2 and lastly by Degica Games for PC in 2016. It's well known for being part of "Triangle's SOS call", calling people to help buying the game in order to save the company, which ended up being successful, making the game having a re-realese on the Dreamcast and later ports.
The game on the SEGA Naomi, SEGA Dreamcast and PS2 are all similar (with some really small and expected differences, particularly the PS2 port), and later called "REMIX" ever since it joined the Shooting Love 200X port (Which seems to be remade inside the "EXZEAL" engine).
As a little easter egg, it is possible to play as the "XII Stag/XII Zeal" ship by inputing a secret code, the mechanics of XII are still the same with some differences to make better balance in its potential scoring.
Controls
Trizeal uses 3 buttons, Both ships (Antares and XII) use them for different purposes as explained above.
- A: Fires the ship's main shot.
- B: This button does different things according which ship are you currently using.
|Antares: "B" is called "Trans", as every time you press it, you will switch between Wide, Missile and then laser (In that order). |XII: "B" activates the black hole bomb.
- C: Just as "B", "C" will make different things according to what ship are you currently using.
|Antares: "C" will deploy a screen clearing bomb, a pretty powerful one too, most enemies (large or small) will often die with a single bomb, alongside clearing bullets. |XII: "C" will use an autofire 15hz Button.
Weapons
Weapons for Antares are presented each with one color, "WIDE" as red, "MISSILE" as green and "LASER" as blue, each can be swapped out at any given time, it will also transform the shape of your ship, differences exist between 1P and 2P Antares ships Weapons for XII is a bit more straight-forward, XII only has a WIDE shoot that will increase up to 5, but XII has access to a backthruster and a side attack, XII also can get faster fire rates when combining "even" and "odd" frame AutoFire buttons (Just like in XII Stag/XII Zeal).

XII and Antares both have completely different scoring potentials, XII can regenerate bombs faster, while Antares has an overall better arsenal for other purposes (piercing for example). The game is full of secrets, all worth high ammounts of points, will mention some of the discovered ones.
Stage 1: Press B (Either as Antares or XII) 12 times before getting to the "cloudy" section of the stage. As Antares you can Press 3·3·3·1·1 (Every time you morph, in the frames of animation you press the button said times), the point is to get to laser at the beggining of the starting zako, then after killing it, transform one last time, so you get Wide, DO NOT Trans any more after that, a little UFO will appear, it will bring you 10,000 points after a couple of frames
As XII you simply press the button 12 (Or 24) times, you will need to drop a bomb for this, while the animation of the bomb happens, you can press the button said times, do not bomb after pressing the button until the UFO has spawned.
Stage 2: 1) Destroy all the stationary tanks, and you will see some towers, Head to the first two right ones, then head to the third and fourth ones on the left, then stay on the center, a Red Sports car (Pun to Raiden) will appear, after reaching the left part of the screen, it will bring 10,000 points. 2) Almost half point in the stage, you will see a pointy tower, stay on it a couple of frames and you will see a pigeon flying, after it reaches a certain point, it will bring you an extra bomb. 3) Nearly the end point of the stage, you will confront two turrets, destroying one will bring the central Robot (Called "A-MON") will stand up and throw a brick, you will need to bounce it by touching it with your ship, the first time it will bring 10 points, then 100, then 1000 and finally 10,000 after every contact, a lot of potential scoring will be on this particular part (As the brick will stay with you until it lefts the screen or your can't keep the chain anymore, in the superplay DVD, the player ACF using the XII ship suicides to continue the chain, that's how important it can get).
Stage 3: If you have your bomb stock at max (5 bombs) by nearly the end of the stage, an R-Type Final Boss looking bullet will appear, it will bring 10,000 points before leaving.
Stage 4: Not fully known, but after killing a really big ammount of meteors after the Break Out section, you will see the missile "HOPE" pop-up, after the point of it leaves the main body, it will bring you 10,000 points.
Stage 5: Near the middle of the stage, just before the part with the shaft and the roads, you can see some corkscrew-like ships flying underneath. There are always as many ships as there are bombs in your stock (0-5). You get 10,000 points for each of them.
Stage 6: You have to press Start during a 25-frame window as Trydine (the midboss) extends his right hand. Just begin tapping Start like mad when he gets out of his seated position and you should trigger him giving you the gift.
