TwinBee is a vertically-scrolling shoot-em-up developed by Konami in 1985, and is the first game in the TwinBee series. It introduces a bell-based power system, and also introduced the cute 'em up subgenre.
The game received ports on MSX and Famicom, and has been released on several compilation titles.

Controls
TwinBee is a 2-button shooter. There are 5 stages, completing all of them loops back to stage 1.
- A button: Fires the player's main weapon.
- B button: Fires the player's ground bomb (losing both arms disables the bomb).
Items
Bells are hidden within floating clouds, they can be uncovered by firing at the clouds. Ground/Miracle Bells, Stars, and Fruit appear by destroying ground enemies.
Yellow Bell Score item. Value increases with subsequent collection: 500 > 1000 > 2,500 > 5,000 > 10,000. Value resets when a Yellow Bell goes off screen or upon death. | |
Blue Bell Increases the player's speed. Can be equipped up to 5 times. | |
White Bell Upgrades the player's shot to a twin cannon. | |
Green Bell Creates 3 duplicates of the player's ship. Cannot be used with the Red Bell. | |
Red Bell Adds a shield barrier. Cannot be used with the Green Bell. | |
Ground Bell Upgrades the player's shot to a 3-way shot. A Miracle Bell can also appear after collecting 2 Ground Bells; turning the player's shot into a baseball. | |
Star Clears all on-screen enemies except for bosses. | |
Fruit Ground item worth 50, 100, or 200 points. | |
Ambulance Repairs the player's arms. Only appears at the first time both arms are lost. |
The bell cycle starts at yellow. Hitting a Yellow Bell five times will make it advance to the next color. Every 5 hits will advance the bell to the next color.

Extra Lives
On default settings, there are two extra lives, one at 30,000 and the other at 120,000.
Loops
TwinBee loops infinitely. Upon a completion of a loop, the game goes back to stage 1.
