General Information
Gunroar is a 360-degree gunboat shooter by Kenta Cho available in Japanese and English. The game combines elements from vertical shooting danmaku/bullet hell games, with that of radially designed twin-stick shooters. It is presented in a distinct retro art style, with all the boats and bullets in the game represented as colored wire-frame 3D models, and an infinitely scrolling background of various blues and greens to represent the water and landmasses of the environment.
In Gunroar, the player takes control of a small gunboat, and must survive as long as possible against an onslaught of enemy ships. Over time, the difficulty will continue to increase as the player destroys more ships. The game ends once the player runs out of extra boats and is defeated.
The game is free to play and, as mentioned earlier, accessible in both English and Japanese. It was developed by Kenta Cho (a.k.a "Saba"), an independent developer, and was uploaded to their site at [1]. The site functions an archive of the games they have developed over time. They have developed many short and simple free to play games over the years, all in a similar pixelated, retro style.

Scoring
WIP
Score is gained by defeating enemy ships and surviving longer. Destroying larger enemies will cancel any bullets they have fired that are on screen, and award additional points. Some bullets can also be destroyed, specifically the spinning grey diamonds hat are fired.

General Strategy
For survival play:
Focus on staying near the bottom of the screen and avoiding bullets. The screen will constantly advance so you will always eventually reach more enemies to defeat. Moving slowly causes boss ships to appear on screen slower too, as they move up and vertically away from the player at about the same pace as the screen scroll. Finding gaps and opportunities to scroll the screen faster and destroy parts of the boss ship before retreating to safety is a decent strategy to taking them out slowly and focusing on dodging.
For high score play:
Destroying ships and scrolling the screen as fast as possible is a good strategy for scoring, as it allows you to spawn more enemies and increase the rank multiplier quickly. This can allow you to achieve large bullet cancels as the difficulty increases rapidly, and defeat more ships which means overall higher scoring.
Rank
Rank multiplier (displayed in the upper right) is a bonus multiplier that increases with a difficulty of a game. You can increase a rank multiplier faster by going forward faster.
(Specifically moving near the top of the screen will scroll the screen faster, however as enemies appear at the top of the screen, this also a risky strategy.)
Rank also increases as the player destroys enemies.
