Gun Frontier is a vertically scrolling shoot'em up game developed and published by Taito in 1990. It is notable for its strong atmosphere and game design that inspired the later Battle Garegga.

It was later ported to the Sega Saturn in 1997, though that version is significantly different from the arcade release. There is a more faithful emulation-based port included in Taito Legends 2, released in 2006, as well as an port in the Arcade Archives series to be released on August 12th 2022.

Controls

  • A: Shoot with built-in rapid. Fires every 14 frames (~4.3Hz).
  • B: Bomb
