Musha Aleste, the fourth game in the Aleste series, was developed by Compile and released December 21, 1990 for the Sega Mega Drive. It was retitled M.U.S.H.A. for release in the west the following year.

Weapons


Main Weapon

Called a seal cluster beam in the US manual.

Your main weapon power is increased by collecting power chips. Each level of power adds an additional column of bullets to your gun.

Special Weapons

Also referred to as option weapon. A special weapon is equipped when you pick up a subweapon unit.

Special weapon strength is your arm level, from 0 to 4. Arm level is increased by picking up another subweapon unit with the same type as your currently equipped special weapon.

Picking up a different subweapon unit will equip that weapon. Your arm level will not increase or decrease.

Your special weapon is lost if it is hit. Losing your subweapon will not decease your arm level unless your arm level was at 4 before getting hit, in which case it will be decreased to 3.

Effect of Damage/Death on Weapons

The special weapon provides one point of health to your ship. If you are hit with a special weapon equipped, you will lose the special weapon instead of die.

On death, both your main weapon and special weapon are reduced back to their starting values.

You drone stock is not affected by death.
