Difference between revisions of "Category:Sub-genres"

Shooter games come in a few sub-genres. The number of which varies from whom you ask.

On this wiki, we try to make sure the sub-genres are meaningful and useful, and want to reduce the noise. (e.g. we do not deem “cute’em’up” or “CAVE-like” as mechanically so different to warrant being its own sub-genre)

The main considerations for qualifying as a sub-genre are:

• the differences are big and common enough to warrant a sub-genre
• there is more than one game that falls under that sub-genre
• it helps if the existence of the sub-genre and its name are already established in the wider shooter community
